Korea doesn’t just make pizza, it reinvents it. Here bold flavors of bulgogi, egg tart and kimchi play mashup and bring extraordinary to you on a platter. Korea has a very unique take on pizzas that might be different from what we have back home so If you thought pineapple pizzas were controversial, wait till you see this line up.

  • Masinae’s Sweet and Sour Pork Pizza

The Sweet and Sour Pork pizza by Masinae’s does Korean-Chinese fusion oh so well, this pizza basically has no crust but breaded layers of sweet sour pork on which even more bizarre toppings are added.

Instead of the usual pizza crust as base, they use deep fried pork that’s covered in Tangsuyuk sauce (sweet and sour) topped with kimchi, mozzarella cheese and olives.

Definitely not your regular Sunday night pizza, highly recommended for adventurers who crave something bold.

Things to note – Stretching the limits of what could pass as pizza, can be extremely rich and heavy and may turn into an entire meal instead of a light snack.

  • Mr Pizza’s Eggta Pizza
egg tart pizza

Mr Pizza offers a variety of crust options but this one by far the most unique, its an Eggta or egg tart pizza, the crust is either filled or lined with sweet custard tart mixture. It comes with rich topping ingredients like minced beef and Camembert cheese.

The combination of a sweeter tart style base with minced meat and creamy Camembert cheese could be delightful for those with a sweet tooth.

Not recommended for everyone as it’s pretty unusual from the ordinary dough, tomato sauce, cheese style pizza but if you’re in the mood to experiment start from here.

Things to note – fusing sweet tart base with beef and camembert cheese is wild, could seem more like a dessert rather than a savoury slice of goodness.

  • Pizza Hut’s Seafood King Pizza

This one by Pizza Hut brings to us a premium menu with rich toppings, the crust is a pretzel edge filled with cream cheese and drizzled with honey, the toppings include whole shrimps tossed in Cajun spice and scallops topped with sweet chilli sauce.

Finally a crust that’s a soft buttery dough with creamy filling, the Cajun spiced shrimps and sweet chili sauce scallops provide contrasting flavors that prevent flavor fatigue.

Highly recommended for sea food lovers, this one’s a pizza that’s meant to be shared.

Things to note – can be heavy due to the seafood toppings, savoury lovers might find the sweeter crust edge odd

  • Pizza Etang Corn Pizza

Korea’s love for corn truly knows no bounds, and this pizza proves it. Pizza Etang’s corn pizza has to be by far the most carb heavy pizza on this list, the base comes with a ranch style sauce with whole pieces of corn that’s sprinkled with corn seasoning and topped with savory ham, potato chips and cheddar cheese

The sauce gives a tangy hit, while the toppings give a multitude of textures. It’s a sweet creamy style pizza perfect for corn lovers.

Things to note – with all the flavours being sweet it could lead to flavour fatigue pretty quick, definitely would recommend pairing it with a fizzy drink

  • Pizza Etang Hot Friday Pizza

Etangs most unique pizza, topped with bulgogi, creamy doenjang mayo, kimchi, trumpet mushrooms and breadcrumbs, a pizza that’s perfect for royalty.

This pizza feels like it was invented for royalty, the combination of the toppings could be bizarre but they all seem to work in some way. The combo of bulgogi and kimchi give a korean edge, while the doenjang mayo and mushrooms provide umaminess, making it bold combination

Perfect for those who enjoy Korean flavors, if you’re not a fan of fermented food this might not be your pick

Things to note – consider sharing this with a few friends as a single person would struggle to finish it.

Pair these with a fizzy drink to cut through a greasy mouthfeel!
