K-Entertainment: everyone already know about the hallyu–wave from the big Korean pop bands to globally famous Korean dramas. When we talk about kpop the first thing that comes to our mind are THE BTS or BLACKPINK isn’t it? when we think about Korean dramas the one of the most “internationally known kdrama such as crash landing on you “catch our attention. That’s the influence of k-Entertainment to all over the world.

The influence of Korean Entertainment:
Step in by Korean reality shows:
The Korean reality shows represents real-life challenges, situations as well as interactions. Reality shows have major contributions in all nations. Viewers love to watch reality shows. Why do Korean reality shows catch viewers’ attention?
I think due to the variety of reality shows from travelling to celebrities interactions from food tours to fashion weeks from emotional stories to reality check. From survival to dating shows.

If you ever watched Korean reality shows you can figure it out how chaotic, funny and sometimes heartwarming, kind of addictive they are. The interactions with idols and celebrities, their hilarious conversations and those funny moments just make us laugh so hard isn’t it? for instance
Let’s talk about men on a mission, one of the most trending Korean reality show on OTT platforms. Also known as knowing brothers, that unique idea of arrangement of the set as a classroom and the idols and celebrities play a role as transfer students. Isn’t it a unique and impressive idea to engage with viewers? I can’t take off my eyes from it while watching this Korean reality show.

Those cast members as a classmates ask silly, funny questions. cracking the jokes, playiing funny games with idols. just make us laugh. There were so many famous korean personalities that attended the show like BTS, EXO, BLACKPINK. stars like Park Seo-joon, Lee Dong-wook, Suzy and so many. We could say how famous this show would be. how Korean reality shows influence the viewers? I guess due to their ability of mixing the humour and a bit of dramatic chaos. like for a second you’re rolling on the floor, laughing so hard by wholeheartly, wiping the tears due to that touching emotional moments we witnessed. Without even realising we acknowledged so much knowledge of korean culture. those korean words 오빠, 형, 아이구, 대박 .we learnt without realisation.
The episodes hold our curiosity. We can’t wait for the new episodes. one episode quickly turns into five episodes. without knowing it’s already 12am in the morning. Korean reality shows are fun, emotional, and those constantly repetition of new episodes. That’s how Korean shows impact on us and force us to just watch one more episode!

Some of the binge-watching Korean reality shows:
- Running man
- Single’s inferno
- Yours kitchen
- Korea no.1
- Men on a mission
Kpop (the music by heart)
Korean pop music is the heart of k-entertainment. We could say that kpop is one of the major reasons for the recognition of South Korea into the whole world. the melodies into the music, the varieties of the music from motivation to emotional. Enthusiastic beats which eventually force a person to dance on it. Those energetic beats just start running into our mind.
Some of the Globally famous kpop groups:
- BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan)
- BLACKPINK
- EXO
- TWICE
- SEVENTEEN
Why are these kpop groups so famous in all nations? Havn’t this curiosity came up to your mind? If you are a blink or BTS army you can explain it well, right? In my opinion due to their diversity of music, choosing the right beats, the fusion of music, the blend of pop, traps, EDM and adding the traditional Korean music touch which make them unique from others. The flabbergasting performances, that signature steps, the choreography, the huge live concerts, the charisma they hold which affect on viewers.

The songs of BTS Dynamite, Butter, Boy with Luv, the songs of Blackpink – How You Like That, Kill This Love, Pink Venom are the biggest examples of it.
K-DRAMA (the breath of Korea)
When we talk about kdrama what is the first thing that comes into your mind? The beautiful representation of the stories. From romance to actions, from fantasies to realities, from biographies to novels. You can find any categories you want. The roller-coaster ride of each emotion, we cry, we laugh, we feel butterflies into the stomach. Sometimes dramas also give us reality checks, don’t they? We feel connected. Sometimes it feels like our story, the realization of similarities with the characters’ that struggling life we are facing, the motivation we wanted that all we found in kdramas.

The chemistry they hold:
The power of the chemistry between the actors which holds the big fandoms actually attracts the viewers. that love triangle like true beauty, Heirs, the action dramas such as my name, healer, K2. the suspense-thriller flower of evil, Alchemy of Souls.
The first step into the k-culture:
While watching the k dramas we understood so many things like we were attracted by Korean food, Korean traditional clothes, Korean etiquettes, last but not least Korean fashion and so on.
The beginning of Korean language journey:
By the attraction of kpop and kdramas, the Korean lovers started learning Korean language for better engagement with their idols or to not see the subtitles while watching the kdramas. Havn’t this make the situation more confusing like to watch the scenes or to understand the subtitles? I guess learning Korean is so much fun and makes it easier to understand things more diligently. right?
The unforgettable OSTs (the soundtracks):
Watching Kdramas not just makes us joyful at the same time, it impact- on us with unforgettable memories. Those beautiful scenes with fantastic soundtracks which we are always fond to it. The OSTs of the goblin, my demon, sweet night by V in Itaewon class we remember it all just now how we recalled the tracks into our mind.
That’s the power of K-Entertainment, also called the hallyu wave. After the covid-19 south Korea got recognition into the all nations for his fashion sense, beauty secrets, of course! for kdramas and kpop. South Korea received so many international fandoms. Which also helps into South Korea’s economical structure, into travel-tourism, building international connections, helping into the cultural exchange. That’s how k -entertainment woven the bond of Korean culture with the whole world. The online platforms OTTs channels like Netflix and social media plays a huge role in making Korean culture viral into the countries. What do you think?
What’s the next k-drama you are going to watch? Are you BTS army or blink? Or any kpop group let me know!
Thank you for coming till the end!
