“Do you know No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 artist BTS?”
This has become a common phrase among Indian ARMYs after BTS made a groundbreaking record of being the only Korean artist to hold this title. Making K-pop a household name was not an easy task. For the past few years we have seen exponential growth of K-Pop in the west with artists like BTS, Blackpink, NCT and Got7 are making their way up in the trending western charts resulting in many Hollywood x K-pop interactions. We came across several Hollywood artists like Anna Kendrick, Halsey and Emma Stone talk about their love for K-pop and how they were introduced to this new genre of music of Korea which was totally unknown to the general public of the west.
Looking at the immense popularity of K-pop in India. Bollywood celebrities also didn’t fall behind talking about their experience with various K-pop groups.
Even Though the popularity of K pop and BTS is still increasing. There have been many instances when Bollywood celebrities were taken aback by the presence of K-pop in India and didn’t fail to mention how they were overwhelmed by the reaction of Indian Kpoppers.
So today we’ve brought you the list of the same.
AR Rahman
A.R Rahman, a singer, songwriter, composer and producer with several Grammys under his name mentioned K-pop during one of the events of Nexa music. He said,
“K-pop has taken over the world, they have pushed it up and it has become like a mainstream.”

During the recent Grammy awards, he shared glimpses of BTS performing Old town road with Naz X in his Instagram post, which led the K-pop enthusiasts to share their excitement on Twitter and wished for future collaboration with their favourite K-pop groups.
Karan Johar
Another instance when Karan Johar, a producer, songwriter, a very famous director, costume designer and actor of B-Town shared a glimpse with Kai, a member of EXO group, on Instagram after which K-pop fans bombarded him with lots of positive remarks.
Later, in an interview with Janice Sequeira, Karan Johar mentioned his reaction, that he was thrilled by the reach of K-pop among Indian Kpoppers and said that he didn’t know how big Korean Pop culture is overseas.
Ayushmann Khurana
Since we are mentioning Bollywood celebrities we cannot seize to talk about Ayushmann Khurrana who follows BTS on Instagram. He once posted BTS’ Euphoria on Instagram story and the amount of response he got was overwhelming. He sat down for an interview with Bollywood Hungama.com and mentioned the band saying that he follows BTS on Instagram and likes most of their pictures too. When further asked he stated,
“ I indeed enjoy all kinds of music, like exploring a lot and love listening to them ( BTS). Euphoria happens to be one of the favourites. ”

Armaan Malik
Armaan Malik, a very famous Bollywood singer retweeted Indian Kpopper’s tweets mentioning Kpop groups like Shinhwa, BTS and EXO, making it very clear that he loves listening to Kpop.
He even congratulated BTS on earning #1 on Billboard Hot 100. On 17th Sept., he tweeted his picture with a finger heart.
On 28 August he posted a cover of BTS’ single ‘Dynamite’ which left fans asking for more.
In the latest interesting interview with Rolling stone India on 23rd Sept. He sat down with Riddhi Chakraborty, to share his experience about discovering Shinhwa out of pure coincidence. He even covered the topic of BTS winning the #1 in Billboards Top 100 was path breaking for Asian artists and why it’s important for Indian artists to see this as an opportunity to learn from Korean industry.
Diljit Doshanjh
Diljit Doshanjh, a singer and actor working in Punjabi and Hindi cinema is a constant supporter of BTS as he follows them on Instagram. There have been many instances when he mentioned BTS, Bighit Entertainment and even the ARMY for their love and support on twitter.
We are crossing our fingers and wishing for more instances in the future. We hope to get Bollywood x K-pop collaborations soon.
