There are many reasons that lay credence to the success and talent of ITZY, one of which being their amazing and groundbreaking musical releases! Since their debut in 2019, they have released a total of 16 title-tracks, which are all musically genius and sonically interesting. As a MIDZY since 2023, who has seen 5 of their comebacks, I find it important to let you know my personal ranking of all their excellent title-tracks!
16. ICY
Starting with ITZY’s first ever comeback, was difficult, because ICY in and of itself is an excellent and one of K-pop’s most iconic summer tracks with an explosive dance-break, bridge and interesting rap verses! But amongst the titles, it is one of my least often listened.
15. Sneakers
A controversial song in ITZY’s discography but one of the biggest growers, Sneakers among the entire discography might be one of my most listened tracks because of its general catchiness and cute message (상관없이 call me trouble, or you can call me weirdo!), but it falls slightly short among ITZY’s title-tracks.
14. DALLA DALLA
Ranking DALLA DALLA low may get me crucified by MIDZYs but I insist. It may be listening fatigue, but inspite that, the song paved the way for ITZY’s generational run and is technically and objectively perfect for a pop track, with its very iconic rap-verse and chorus. (말리지 마!)
13. 마. 피. 아. In the morning
In the morning is one of my most listened tracks from ITZY due to its catchy rap passes with YUNA, YEJI and RYUJIN, and especially LIA’s low and powerful vocals in the bridge! It being thirteenth place goes to show the musical excellence of the remaining titles.
12. RINGO
Apple! Or RINGO is everything anyone would want from an ITZY song. Rapverses by RYUNAJI, vocal-heavy bridge handled by LIA, and adlibs by YEJI and CHAERYEONG. Moreover the sonic storytelling of the song—defiance and self-reliance: quintessential message of any ITZY song, makes it a classic. They are not princesses but the knights!
11. CAKE
CAKE is a release which exemplified perfectly ITZY’s bubbly and bratty side, tied intricately to the “MIXXPOP” style of NMIXX. The stand out parts are definitely RYUJIN and YUNA’s rapverses (shakey-shake, bust it up!), RYUJIN’s singing of the chorus and the bombastic EDM post-chorus.
10. Not Shy
Not Shy is an anthem for anyone who wants to have enough confidence to succeed in life, be themselves or even someone who wants to confess to their love! Not Shy, Not Me; to admit that this song is an extremely fun song to dance to, and one of their most difficult choreographies.
9. Girls Will Be Girls
Released very recently in 2025, we see a welcome return of ITZY to their electronic dance roots! The catchy chorus, paired with one of ITZY’s best dancebreaks make it ITZY’s best release this year thus far! The song only sets a springboard for ITZY’s future releases in this genre.
8. ROCK AND ROLL
With ROCK AND ROLL, we begin the songs by ITZY which are regularly recommended by me to my friends and also which I listen to everyday! Breaking the wall, we so rock and roll, indeed! The song is bubbly and not in a conventional format but mirrors a vibe of older K-pop songs with simple lyrics and sound.
7. GOLD
An unpopular ranking once again, personally, GOLD is one of ITZY’s best. Funky, and perfect for LIA’s return to group activities, it has become an ITZY classic. It not only has excellent raps, a dance break and energetic choreography but is also sonically interesting, having DemJointz involved in its production. All in all, it is a modern ITZY classic and extremely iconic.
6. Algorhythm (Final Ver.)
If I were to rank the OT4 version of Algorhythm, it would probably fall 4 spots in the least, but the final version of Algorhythm with LIA is what makes it so amazing. LIA’s signature voice in the chorus and prechorus make the song interestingly addictive to hear, with the pre-existing lyrical genius and raps, and the bombastic dancebreak! It is their best Japanese title-track!
5. Wannabe
Venturing into the top-5, we see an obvious addition. Wannabe is essentially one of K-pop’s most iconic and titular songs. With its unabashed love-yourself lyrics, heavy bass, and vocals, it still holds up and remains excellent. The choreography layers another stratum of addictiveness, with RYUJIN’s iconic and viral shoulder dance, and being K-pop girl groups’ most difficult choreographies, its dynamic dancebreak. If it were not for certain sajaegi, it would have also been ITZY’s only RAK! Even still it is the most viewed YouTube music video by a 4th generation group, and ITZY’s most streamed song on Spotify. Wannabe is K-pop and its girl-crush concept at its best and hence, deserves a high-ranking on this list.
4. LOCO
To be honest, picking whether to rank Wannabe higher or LOCO was eternally difficult. It depends on the day truly, and #3 and #4 are interchangeable, henceforth LOCO is probably the most successful ITZY song only after Wannabe. Its explosive, and ITZY’s longest dancebreak, rapverses by CHAERYEONG, YEJI and RYUJIN (Yes, Oasis 찾는 Kitty!), and the amazing and catchy chorus by YEJI and LIA are stand-outs. It is second to Wannabe in almost every achievement, and the title-track of ITZY’s only full album. It is insanely addicting and one of their songs I sing along to most.
3. Cheshire
Cheshire, the namesake of which is from a mischievous character from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, is ITZY at its best. The message is mysterious, mature, trickster-esque and in a sense seductive, continuing the femme-fatale concept from In the morning but more tacitly. If it were 6 months ago, it would climb up to first place, but due to me listening to it 100s of times, it has fallen two spots! It’s addictive chorus, soft and seductive rapverses, and the insanely addictive “Lalala” and “Why so serious/curious?” parts cement it as the beginning of ITZY’s reclimb to acclaim after Sneakers!
2. Imaginary Friend
Imaginary Friend is a song which grows on you, when you realize its context within ITZY’s personal experiences. It is a song released with LIA in mind, and her battles in mental health maintenance. Its lyrics are tear-wrenchingly profound and poignant, describing ITZY as being not only an all-loving imaginary friend for MIDZY but also their fellow member, LIA. The music video does an excellent job in visual storytelling and the dance-breaks by CHAERYEONG, and YEJI are graceful and beautiful. The song marks a shift in ITZY’s discography, as one of ITZY’s first soft and ballad-esque title-tracks, for which it has been widely recognized by general audiences and MIDZYs alike.
HONORABLE MENTION: Air
Although not an ITZY title-track, Air deserves to be on this list! Everyone had extreme expectations with YEJI’s solo debut, and oh, did it deliver! Its fresh retro 1980s pop sound and YEJI’s excellent soft vocals alongside the difficult and varied choreography of the song give it a nice contrast. Its catchiness and critical acclaim have led to wide attention from the general music industry and non-MIDZY K-pop fans as well, who love and support YEJI in her endeavors!
1. UNTOUCHABLE (Final Ver.)
My initial reaction to UNTOUCHABLE was neutral when we first heard it in 2023, due to the hype that was generated for the b-side BORN TO BE, and like many I believed it to be the superior track. However, with the release of the final version with LIA, I now see UNTOUCHABLE as ITZY’s best track thus far. Although it is not all what ITZY is known for, like dancebreaks or rapverses, it is something new, but it works! The production is twined into the quintessential ITZY EDM, but the K-pop formula is almost fully missing. Moreover, the chorus’ catchy hook, the post-chorus’s BAM-BAM-BAM-BA-DI, self-empowering lyrics, the excellent bridge by LIA (formerly CHAERYEONG), adlibs by CHAERYEONG, and YUNA and RYUJIN’s singing parts make it a song you can listen to anytime, anywhere without ever getting bored! In a sense, it signifies the beginning of ITZY’s reinvention and maturation of their original and beloved self-confidence concept, for which MIDZYs are very excited!
