Jeonju is the largest city of Republic of Korea. And Jeonju was chosen as a creative city for Gastronomy as a part of UNESCO’s creative cities network. And even it is a home of tradition. And it is also known as gastronomic capital for its rich culinary heritage. With its long-standing production of rice cultivated on the Hunam Plain, fish and slated fish from the yellow sea. Jeonju is famous for its bibimbap and side dishes. And their balance of flavour, colour and texture make it more attractive and it carry their cultural and food philosophy. Not only bibimbap there are so many foods which is the reason Jeonju is known as the capital of food. Memil naengmyeon which is chilled buckwheat noodles. It is also one of the famous dishes of Jeonju. Buckwheat noodles have an earthier and nuttier texture than other noodles which are made different flour. Even the most attractive part that this is healthier and they are packed with protein and fibre. And they served it with boiled egg and cucumber with seaweed

The town of Wanjuon the outskirts of Jeonju is said to have some of the country’s tastiest tofu. And many people visit this place to enjoy tofu stew. And the combination of spicy red pepper broth and soft tofu make for a great heart touching meal. And along with kimchi jiggae, sundubu jjigae. Even Jeonju choco pies can be found almost every supermarket in south korea but jeonju’s choco pies are known as the best choco pies. They served this choco pies consists of a marshmallow filling with a sponge cake sandwich. And their balance of fluffy and sweet taste makes it more attractive. Even they have different types of food which make this city as a Taste city. Nd this is the reason Jeonju city is renowned for its gastronomy and food industry. And this city has made continual efforts to protect traditional food culture and develop the gastronomy sector. And to support the development of traditional food culture Jeonju offers many types of food and cooking programmes at universities. And Jeonju’s infostructure is the reason the city can host various food festivals including Jeonju bibimbap festival and international fermented food expo which is contributing to create a global friendship.
